Invisible Shield Review

July 7th, 2008 by EDIT-XTREEM

Invisible Shields are clear protectors sold for thousands of different devices, including Apple products. I had the chance to review the 17″ Macbook Pro and the BlackBerry Curve versions.

What blew me away about this product is how durable it is. They were originally designed to protect the leading edge of helicopter blades. You can see how strong they are in this video.

The Invisible Shields went on very easily to both the Macbook Pro and BlackBerry. After waiting the suggested 24 hours, the one protecting the bottom of the Macbook Pro still had air bubbles around the sides despite following the instructions exactly.

If you are looking for durability, then look no further, but If you are looking to keep your product looking the same as it did when you opened the box, this might not be the right solution for you. On the Macbook Pro they add a glossy look to the case, and on the BlackBerry the dark grey case appears as a glossy black.

With the mobile devices, ZAGG, the makers of Invisible Shields advertise that by having one on, it adds grip. While this is true, it makes putting the device into a case a bit harder, as it doesn’t slide smoothly in.

Bottom line, I like the product, its a great idea and it is well executed. Since the time of my testing I have removed the Invisible Shield from the BlackBerry other then the screen, and from the Macbook Pro other then the wrist-rests and bottom.

Stay tuned to iAppblog later this week for a Invisible Shield giveaway!

If it has air bubbles, then you didn’t put it on correctly :)

    Mine is flawless.
