My new best friend: Twitterrific

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

Now, I’ve only just started using Twitter (@evanlugh) (not many use it in England, so I don’t want to look like a loner) and already I think I’ve found an application I love: Twitterrific.
Created by the IconFactory, Twitterrific is a lightweight application which allows you to read, publish and sync with twitter.
The interface is a smart, clean HUD bezel style and even brings professionalism to your desktop.

Twitterrific supports multiple Twitter accounts, a smart dock icon (shows you how many unread notifications or tweets you have) and much much more.
To see a full feature list visit the Twitterrific homepage.

More after the break.

Twitterrific is free but with limitations. For free you get the whole package plus the occasional advert. Alternatly you can splash out $14.95 which removes the advertising and helps support for future improvements.

There are many free alternatives to Twitteriffic such as:

twhirl - uses the Adobe Air API & can run on both Windows and Mac.
twitterfox - twitter+FireFox = What a Tweet! (sorry..)

In the meantime check out Twitterrific and see what it can do for you!

Twitter

iAppblog now has its own twitter account. To follow iAppblog, just add the account ‘iappblog’ as one of your friends. I have also setup twitter tools, so it should display all of the new iAppblog posts.

I will post a review of Twitter Tools and the Twitter service in general in the next few weeks, once I play with it a bit.
