Small Apology & Dropbox Invites

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

Unfortunatly, iAppblog hasn’t been updated as it has been recently. This is mostly down to my fault (and Apple). I won’t give you all the information but basically a software update killed both my iMac and my Air and my other computers didn’t have the bare essentials. Basically, it frazzled my hard drive(s). I’m slowly getting running again and iApp is also getting excited due to the 2.0 upgrade.

For being such an idiot and downloading the wrong software update i’m going to dish out 10 Dropbox invites (maybe more, depends on the circulation of the 10) to the first 10 people that reply with their:

1. Email address (your invitation will be sent here)

2. Website (I’m a web crawler (!!) )

Invitations will be sent out within 48 hours or less (probably within the first 20 minutes) and if you don’t receive one please contact us.

Good luck!

The Road to 2.0

road to 20.png

Over the last few weeks I have been dreaming up what iAppblog 2.0 will be. So far I’ve thought about a new design, some new cool features (more to come) and a some more writers.

If anyone has any ideas, I’d love to know, just send me an email or post a comment.

New kid on the blog - err block.

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

Hello!

I’m Evan, I’m English and I’m the new writer on iAppblog.com.

I’m not very fond, nor good at writing introductory posts so I’m going to keep it short and sweet (plus, I won’t ramble on so I can save face).
I’ve been an Apple fan for about 4 years now. My first Apple computer was a 12″ Powerbook G4. I then went on to buy the sleek white iMac G5 20″ 2.1GHz. This year I upgraded my iMac to the super-sexy 24″ Alu iMac and bought a Mac Mini 2.0GHz for small work.

I also own an iPod Nano 2G, iPod Mini, iPod Video (60GB), iPod Touch 16GB and an iPhone 8GB.

I’m starting to get shy already so I’m going to stop now before I start to blush.
So thanks and expect to see plenty of posts from me :)

iAppblog Updates

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

I’ve been working really, really, hard on reworking the backend of the site. I found a major flaw in the database, and I was fourced to completely (manually) rebuild it. Everything is now working great on the backend, and its time for some frondend work in my opinion.

One thing I have believed in since starting iAppblog over a year ago is that user feedback is the best way to build a site, so I want to know what everyone thinks should be added to iAppblog. Any suggestions, and commends, any feedback. If you want to write for iAppblog, let me know, if you want to have your application reviewed, let me know!

Please post either a comment, or send me an email to let me know.

(If you notice any issues with the site as well, please let me know, I have tested it since I reworked it, but no one’s perfect)

iAppblog now has a Favicon

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

I recently made a Favicon for iAppblog. Though it looks similar to the Apple Apps Icon, I have remade it, no copy/paste here!

I would enjoy your feedback on it. I have further plans for it, watch the site in the coming days.

iAppblog on the iPhone

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

I have been working on the back-end of iAppblog over the last few weeks and have now integrated some new features. The most notable is iAppblog Mobile, which is now works perfectly on the Apple iPhone. This is based on the plugin by Alex King. We would love to see users pictures of iAppblog running on their iPhones and other mobile devices.

ASiteADay

Thursday, June 21st, 2007

iAppblog has won the ASiteADay Award for June 21, 2007. We are very honored, and would like to thank our amazing designer, Leo Mancini for all his great work on the blog. We would not have been able to win this award without the support of all of our advertisers, so I would like to thank all of them. And, to everyone who have donated, big or small, we thank you for you contributions to help make this blog what it is.

Leo Mancini also won ASiteADay for his great personal site, and he allowed us to use his banner.

I have also setup a redirect on iAppblog that goes to the award. http://iappblog.com/awards/asiteaday/
